In this visually and conceptually impressive film, two-bit Berlin criminal Manni (Moritz Bleibtreu) delivers some smuggled loot for his boss, Ronnie (Heino Ferch), but accidentally leaves the 100,000 mark payment in a subway car. Given 20 minutes to come up with the money, he calls his girlfriend, Lola (Franka Potente), who sprints through the streets of the city to try to beg the money out of her bank manager father (Herbert Knaup) and get to Manni before he does something desperate.

Dr. Mohamed Esa earned his master’s and doctorate degrees in German Studies at the University of Heidelberg, Germany. He is a full professor in the Department of World Languages at McDaniel College. Dr. Esa is author of numerous books and articles on German music, German film, fairy tales and proverbs and idioms. In addition to teaching German language, literature and culture classes, he also offers courses on fairy tales, food studies, Arab-American literature, Islam and the Arab world. He also offers workshops and seminars all over the United States, Canada and Europe on the use of music, fairy tales, short films in the foreign language classrooms.
