How To Be Considered For

Exhibit Opportunities

This space houses group exhibits curated by our Visual Arts Coordinator featuring high quality work created by professional artists. Exhibits are built upon a central theme or medium and are typically curated a year in advance. Exhibits in the Tevis Gallery are generally 6 weeks long. Works sold from these exhibits are subject to a 27% commission collected by CCAC. The Coordinator finds many of these artists in the community, on gallery trips and internet searches. Artists are welcome to submit samples of their work for consideration throughout the year. Please submit by email or on a disc high quality images, a resume, artist statement, exhibition history and website or other online gallery links. No actual works of art or photographs will be accepted for consideration.

This space on the second floor houses group exhibits by local clubs, guilds or other organizations that are working together to “co-curate” their exhibits with our Visual Arts Coordinator. Works sold from these exhibits are subject to a 27% commission collected by CCAC. Groups should contact the Visual Arts Coordinator at least 6 months in advance to be considered for this space. Please be prepared to describe the show’s theme, exhibitor’s names and provide 3-5 high resolution images of representative work.

Our exhibition priorities are:

  • To display art of the highest artistic standards as determined by the professional principles of good design.
  • To offer a wide variety of mediums and styles, both within particular exhibition as well as over the course of the calendar year.
  • To feature work that is unique to the area and not regularly displayed at other local venues so that we provide a distinctive cultural experience that is not available elsewhere in the County.
  • We also proudly display works by local clubs, schools and art guilds in our Community Gallery.

Call for Artists

At least once a year, a “Call for Artists” is announced for specific exhibits and for the annual Members’ Show. These shows are an excellent chance to exhibit your work, have it viewed by our Visual Arts Coordinator, and other members of our gallery committee who are charged with finding artists for future Tevis Gallery Exhibits. Artists are encouraged to seriously consider these opportunities. Works sold from these exhibits are subject to a 27% commission collected by CCAC.

Annual Members Exhibit

Every year we host a Members exhibit where any current dues-paying member can display a work of art. There is no jurying involved to enter, and artists do not need to submit images in advance. This is traditionally a well-attended show and a dynamic display of a wide range of styles and experience levels.

Gift Shop / Gallery of Gifts

Artists who create fine crafts, small collage or paintings can be considered for consignment sales in the year-round Gift Shop in our lobby. Please send high resolution digital images of your work for consideration. Inquiries are accepted on an ongoing basis (details below).

Gallery of Gifts is a special cash & carry exhibit in the Tevis Gallery that resembles a boutique rather than a traditional gallery exhibit, where selected artists can display their festive wares during the holiday shopping season each year without being present. CCAC staff and volunteers handle sales.

General Information

A 27% commission is collected by CCAC for art sales in our galleries or Gift Shop. Shipping and/or delivery charges are the responsibility of the artist. All artists displaying work in the Carroll Arts Center galleries or Gift Shop agree to do so at their own risk. It is strongly encouraged that artists maintain homeowners or renters insurance on their works displayed at the CCAC.

How to Apply

Those interested in having their work considered for the Tevis Gallery, Community Gallery, or Gift Shop should submit up to 10 professional quality images for review. Digital images in JPG or TIFF format are preferred, and may be emailed or mailed on a CD. Photos or prints may also be mailed directly along with a resume or artist statement. Each image should be clearly labeled as to title, size, medium and name. Please do not submit, or bring in original art work for consideration. Images may be held for up to 3 months. Include a SASE if you want samples to be returned. All submissions are given thorough consideration and review. Being a regular visitor to our gallery is the best way for you to understand our gallery philosophy, so we hope to see you often.
