Tevis Gallery Concert

Fine Tuned is honored to bring you a night of intimate indie folk and folk-adjacent music steered by Nashville-based musician Abigayle Kompst. Kompst will be joined by rising singer-songwriters from around Maryland: Still Fine (Westminster), Holiday Video Star (Baltimore), and Daphne Eckman (Annapolis).

Abigayle Kompst – Indie-folker Abigayle Kompst is writing songs that blend the melodic richness of folk pioneers with honest, intimate lyrics found in today’s confessional songwriter scene. Hailing from the city of neon lights, she found her artistic home in Nashville after leaving the glamour of Las Vegas behind. Abigayle’s songs have been recorded by Nashville artists such as Chloe Collins, Molly Frances, W.B Sims, and more. An artist in her own right, she released her debut album “Vegas” in 2022. Her second EP, titled “Recovering Optimist” is set to release on September 22nd. Co-produced with Chris Donlin, this is a new sound you won’t want to miss!

Daphne Eckman – Singer/songwriter Daphne Eckman calls herself a “professional over-feeler”, and she’d like to invite you to over-feel with her.  Based in Annapolis, MD, she has been touring locally and around the east coast since 2022 with her five-piece band, bringing an indie rock flavor to her acoustic folk songs. Her songwriting is honest and raw, writing about intense interpersonal experiences and finding autonomy in your early twenties. Inspirations include Phoebe Bridgers, Joni Mitchell, Pinegrove and more. She is set to release her debut record in January 2024 titled “Where You Left Me”, with songs ‘Iris’, ‘Ghost’, and ‘Jackson Pollock’ being the leading singles.

Holiday Video Star – TLDR; Holiday Video Star is sad and gay. The songwriting project of Baltimore-based Soph Abbott and multi-instrumentalist Jake Fine intertwines influences of folk, shoegaze, slowcore, and early 2000’s indie rock with confessional lyrics. Abbott’s songwriting acts as an invitation into their experiences with heartbreak and grief while Fine intertwines rhythm and ambience to create an emotionally present environment.

Still Fine – Still Fine is the solo project of musician Jake Fine: a hyper-involved Maryland drummer, teacher, and writer who descends from a long lineage of grocery store checkout line talkers. The guitar- and banjo- driven music of Still Fine carries folk vulnerability at its core, influenced by Fine’s diverse interests in chamber pop, indie and psychedelic rock, bluegrass, funk, and more. Enveloped in honesty and sealed with humor, each song is a letter from a man in love with everything to everyone Still looking.
