American string band music that spans generations. For 50 years, Critton Hollow (Joe Herrmann on fiddle & banjo, Sam Herrmann on hammered dulcimer & guitar, and Joe Fallon  on guitar and bass) has delighted audiences throughout the U.S., Canada, Japan, Ireland and Scotland with traditional American string band music. Vandalia (fiddler Dakota Karper, cellist Ellen Gira and guitarist Gabriel Furtado) explore the depth and breadth of that tradition. Mentored by Joe Herrmann, this band presents American string band music that is true to its old-time roots while benefiting from elements of Celtic and bluegrass traditions.
