Hip-Hop Dance Group

Silver-Spring based dance group, Urban Artistry, presents “Love in a Time of Pandemic: Meaningful Movement for Uncertain Times.” This original piece is about connection and relationship in a time of dissonance. Formed in the current climate of quarantine, social unrest, economic fragility, and the polarizing projections of race relations and the misuse of power, this show highlights the human condition and the importance of being seen and heard by our family and friends, our community, our workplace, and our leadership.

Urban Artistry believes that movement is freedom. And this freedom allows communities to move deeper into exploring their truths against the only constant in life: change. We believe and demand that “better“ begins with ourselves, and the stronghold for change comes with knowing our power as individuals and as a community. Join Urban Artistry as they paint a picture of the hopeful power of music and dance to help establish the connections and closeness needed in times of loss and disruption. This is a story of finding home and redefining a better version of our shared communal identity, one honest and meaningful step at a time.

Urban Artistry, Inc. is an internationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to the performance and preservation of art forms inspired by the urban experience. Serving as cultural ambassadors for communities that are often unsung, the group fulfills their mission through effective collaborations that support artists’ past, present, and future.
