Student African Drum Ensemble

The McDaniel College Department of Music will present a performance by its Student African Drum Ensemble on Thursday, November 11 at 7:00 p.m. The concert, directed by Pape Demba “Paco” Samb, will take place in the Roj Student Center’s Naganna Forum.
McDaniel music department faculty member Pape Demba “Paco” Samb, a “Senegalese Griot,” or West African historian, storyteller, singer, poet, dancer, and/or musician, teaches the classes. Samb grew up in Senegal, learning to play the drums, and came to the U.S. in 2013. Samb originally came to the U.S. to perform with his band and once he arrived here, he decided to stay.
The concert is free and open to the public.
