Equip yourself with practical strategies and effective tactics to successfully sell your artwork! Artists will learn various approaches to market their art, engage with potential buyers, build a strong brand, and develop sustainable revenue streams. Through case studies, hands-on exercises, and expert guidance, artists will gain the knowledge and skills to build a thriving art business. By the end of the three sessions, participants will have developed a comprehensive understanding of art marketing, sales strategies, and tactics. In addition, they will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to effectively promote and sell their artwork, establish strong relationships with collectors, and confidently move forward in their business.

Session 1: Define a Selling Strategy (Wed. October 11)
Artists will learn how to craft a carefully designed and detailed plan to achieve long-term sales goals for their art business using case studies and information about current art marketing trends.

Topics will include:

  • Understanding the art market and its dynamics.
  • Identifying target markets and understanding buyer behavior
  • Analyzing current trends and opportunities
  • Pricing Strategy
  • Defining your artistic identity and unique selling proposition

Session 2: Outlining and Implementing Tactics for Your Strategy (Wed. October 18)
After outlining a plan in session one, artists will design and combine art business tactics with long-term strategies to support their goals. This session will teach artists to think outside the box and develop unique approaches to enhance art sales.

Topics will include:

  • Identifying and utilizing various marketing channels (online and offline)
  • Using content marketing to support their strategy
  • Using email and direct mail.
  • Selling directly to consumers and businesses
  • Leveraging social media platforms to reach and engage with your audience
  • Using events to support a strategy

Session 3: Sustain Your Strategy (Wed. October 25)
Artists learn how to set up their businesses to sustain and grow with their strategies.

Topics will include:

  • Nurturing relationships with collectors and buyers
  • Implementing effective communication strategies to build relationships. Building a mailing list
  • Collaboration with other artists and businesses
  • Alternative revenue streams
  • Sales management
  • Long-term career planning and growth

This is an online class using Zoom. A Zoom link will be sent via email by the instructor prior to class.
