Pastels and sanded pastel paper will be provided, but you may bring your own.
Instructor Bio: Karen Peck is a practicing artist and retired art teacher. Her discovery of soft pastels sparked a deep love affair with the medium. The immediacy of color application with no brush or other medium, the range of hues from which to choose all drew her in. Her pastel collection grew and she soon found herself painting almost daily. Her preferred subject to paint is landscapes, capturing the variations in color, light and texture. Farm scenes with old barns are a favorite. Her love of travel has provided many opportunities for plein air painting and collecting reference photos. Painting is her therapy and joy. She truly believes the words of Thomas Merton, “Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time”
