Karen Amelia Brown leads this class that is designed to educate participants about the powerful creative parts of our brains and to explore ways to become more creative in our work, our school, our spare time, and our play. Through assigned readings, in-class exercises, working with others, and exploration, the participants are encouraged to find new ways of growth.

Karen Amelia Brown is a fiber artist located in Carroll County, MD. In 1992, she left the corporate world to focus on making art that has included painting, calligraphy, quilting and other fiber pursuits including dyeing and designing fabrics. Karen has studied at MICA, a year-long course in letter arts, and numerous workshops in the textile arts.Her teaching experience included introducing word processing and desktop computer systems in several Fortune 500 companies in the Baltimore area. As an artist, Karen has taught classes in calligraphy and design, fabric dyeing and printing as well as ‘how-to’ quilting classes. For a period of 14 years, Karen taught a 13-week class based on and including The Artist Way by Julia Cameron. Karen holds a B.A. from College of Notre Dame of Maryland. Karen’s paintings and fiber art have been shown in exhibits and shows throughout the Mid-Atlantic area.
